61impalafan: not so true, the best is sixtoo
WOW ANOTHER 61 Impala classic is the bomb and is the best year ever made.
My uncle has a 61 impala stick car. He bought it new and it has been sitting outside since 1980 or so. I try to get him (68 yrs old) to move on it. Sell it or fix it. I'm gonna get around to it one day..... Right. Now his son has a sweet 68 Camero guess what its sitting outside for 5 years now while "the motor gets rebuilt" Makes me sick....
This appears to be a lowriders dream....or nightmare.
are you sure its a 4-speed? it looks like someone put a 3-speed floor shifter kit in it. you can get them at any auto parts store
You can't tell by the picture, but the 61 is a 348 car! Yes the motor is long gone, but in it's place is a 327. Rustysouth is correct, it could be a 3 speed. It has a Hurst shifter in it. It does have the Mae West guards on the front with the guards on the back. The floors are gone but other than that is a complete car. The 60 has bad floors but is a complete car also. It is a numbers matching 283 car, auto with red and white interior.
the left one is a 60 but i sure would love to get my hands on the 61 on the right!
The four speed was put in after can see where tree shift was.Cool car though.
love that '61. my first car was a '61 wagon with "slip and slide" powerglide. lots of memories!
