1959 Chevrolet Impala Convertible
Every day to work, school or whereever i would see just a glimpse of the tail end of a 1959 chevy impala like this or biscayne (not sure which) covered in dust in an old barn. Each time i pass it i VOW to buy it one day
how rare is that!!
I just can't imagine anyone allowing this to happen to such a great Chevy icon. I regret still today that I traded in my 59 flip-top for brand new 67 Impala sport coupe. It was in fabulous shape with a 348 cu. in. engine. Oh woe is me when I see a travesty like this of such magnitude.
This picture was taken about a year ago. As far as I know it's all still there... everything from a 40 chevy sedan to a late 70's IH Scout. Probably twenty cars?, mostly GM product. This one had to be a sharp car in its day!
there is a story and two pages of pictures about this car and the ones found with it in the jan 2009 issue of chevy classics pretty intresting it said they were somewhere in central pennsylvania .i dont know how long ago these were taken and what ever became of them maybe mcyphert who posted the picture has gotten more info .i would guess they are long gone by now my guess is they went to the crusher or some lucky junkman. it would be intresting to know what became of them
What a sad site to see,and these are scattered all over,I have found several treasures in my day,and it's the same old story "Sorry it is not for sale, going to restore it someday" 25 years later its in the same place!!
I'm the one who submitted this picture. I've been told that the old fella who lived here passed away and the state now has possession of the property. There are probably thirty cars sitting around. There are two '60 Biscaynes sitting to the left of this ragtop. The Rambler sitting to the right is stuffed FULL of glass Coke and 7UP bottles in the wooden cases.
my mothers first car......only the wrong color
Last car my grandfather owned was a 59 Biscayne he bought new. Six with three on the tree. One of our fellow cruisers here has a 59 El Camino. This ragtop may have a lot of frame rust but may well be worth saving.
what a sad state for such a beautiful car.i really hope someone saves this one.i've seen a heckuva lot worse saved...
I would probably have to check out some of those "SWAPMEETS" IF i had possession of this lovely dream car. What a waste.
that's a rare one to find now still the windshield frame and top frame a great donor for a resto
