DESCRIPTION

1955 Chevrolet 210 2-Door Sedan

For consignment, a 1955 Chevrolet 210 2-door sedan packing a bored 327ci V8 and wearing a bright coat of yellow paint. This is a show ready car that could also use a bit of TLC to bring all functions into working order.

Exterior
There\'s nothing more obvious than this car\'s eye popping yellow paint, a color reminiscent of John Milner\'s 1932 5 window coupe in American Graffiti but of course, shaped more like Harrison Ford\'s black 150 from the same flick. We\'ve seen our share of \'55\'s and can split down the middle those who paint the back panel an offset white or ivory and those who create a monochrome profile with a solid color, as this one does. The 55\'s have a great blend of body panels and polished metal, not too much, not too little. The Cragar SS wheels here add a nice augmentation to the metalwork and wear 70 series tires that add to the tall stance. It also has a pair of chrome exhaust tips that protrude aggressively beyond the rear bumper. This is a \"post\" car so the B-pillar sends a yellow column up to the roof to define the cabin area. Imperfections include some unevenness under the paint in a few areas, panel gaps that are good but not great, and some mismatched yellow, particularly on the passenger door.

Interior
Patterned black velour covers the door with a soft to the touch skin that highlights the metallic hardware. This same material covers the split bench front seat nicely, with some compression on the driver\'s side but in very good shape, as is the backseat bench surrounded in this pleated patterned black material. A stock black steering wheel leads to a yellow framed dashboard and includes an added tachometer with matching yellow shift light. The arched speedometer looks original, and the bowtie stamped dash trim houses an AM/FM/Cassette radio and the yellow lower dash is sandwiched by a three gauge pod added under it. On the floor, a B&M shifter stands tall and black loop carpet covers the floor in fine fashion. The black headliner above has a circle hole but is otherwise in good condition and the trunk has a fitted rubber mat and spare Cragar.

Drivetrain
We open the big hood to reveal a roomy engine bay housing a rebuilt 327ci V8, bored .030 over and topped with an Edelbrock intake and 4-barrel carburetor. Headers are bolted to the sides. A shift kit has been added to the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear with 3.36 gears. Power brakes are supplied here with discs in front and drums in the rear. The bay is super clean

Undercarriage
Very clean and better than driver condition underneath with minimal surface rust and just residual drops of oil on pans and rear diff. The dual exhaust joins an H-pipe, then a set of stock style mufflers before heading straight back to those chrome tips. Coil spring suspension is up front and leaf springs in the rear.

Drive-Ability
The 327 starts with a raucous rumble and rolls onto the test loop with authority and with good power. We note some slop in the steering but tracking straight is not a problem and the brakes do their job. Some of the things not operating include the horn, the reverse lights, the speedometer, odometer, and the tachometer. All other operational items on the car work as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Our consignor states the car needs a rear main seal and it\'s included with the car along with an oil pan gasket. He\'s also including a new rack and pinion, motor mounts, and other various parts. As is, this is a drivable classic with great presence and an engine that\'s had about 500 miles since rebuild according to our consignor. Take note Tri-Five nation, this is a sunny car with great bones and lots of work done that\'s ready for a new home. Will the sun set in your garage? Let us know.
