DESCRIPTION

1957 Chevrolet 150 2-Door Sedan

For consignment, a 1957 Chevrolet 150 2 door sedan showing 30,361 miles but the true miles are unknown as the title reads Mileage Exempt. This car has lots of comfort features including power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning as well as a straight and rust free body.

Exterior
Two stage black paint accented with both the classic brightwork of a \'57 and a prominent Stinger hood with red highlights and the words \"El Diablo\" scripted on the raised edges. Per our consignor, all the chrome and stainless trim has been reworked and it shows, it\'s all in great condition and the hockey stick trim on the side is accented with more red in the vertical recesses of the metal. That same red reappears on the lower part of the taillight nacelles which mirrors the actual half moon tail lights above that flank a bone straight, gleaming rear bumper just above two straight chrome exhaust tips. 15-inch Crager SS wheels look sharp and wear rubber with a mid 2022 date code and provide a slightly raked stance that is subtle and classically hot rod. Black ain\'t easy, but they got right on this one with the only imperfections noted include an area of porous paint over bodywork and a rough spot around a wheel opening.

Interior
The full custom interior starts with red velour door panels with smooth sections sandwiching ribbed inserts in a neat and clean presentation that includes an armrest door pull. A puffy and fully covered split bench seat takes those same colors and materials and creates an inviting couch in this rolling living room and back bench occupants are treated to the same soft surrounding. A red 3 spoke steering wheel fronts a clean dashboard dominated by an aluminum finish and topped by a black painted dash pad with pinstriping. Gauges, both vintage and modern auxiliary monitor speed and engine functions while an AM/FM/Cassette radio looks right at home in the center and a tachometer is mounted up high. A floor mounted Hurst shifter rises from the depths of plush maroon carpet protected by Chevy mats and the soft, dark red headliner is in perfect condition. The trunk is nicely painted and wears a fitted rubber mat and full sized spare.

Drivetrain
Bling city underneath the hood with lots of chrome and polished dress up bits, making the 283ci V8 shine. On top, an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and intake manifold rest under a chrome air filter cover and a 5-speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels and 3.36 gears. An aluminum radiator has been added and a big, gold power booster in the bay means power brakes are onboard with discs in front and drums in the back.

Undercarriage
No complaints underneath as it\'s very clean with just the most minimal presence of surface rust, a drop of oil on the plug, and a few past floorboard repairs that are tidy and tight. No grease, no road dirt, and certainly no invasive rust of any kind on the uniformly black belly. Dual exhaust enters a pair of stainless steel mufflers then the pipesmake the long trek to the back where they meet chrome tips from which to play their music. Suspension consists of coil spring in front and leaf springs and Caltrac bars out back.

Drive-Ability
This well sorted ride provides a comfortable perch and a great greenhouse that offers amazing visibility over the large horizontal surfaces and leading edges of this big car. The 283 sounds great and runs well and there\'s obvious power at hand, as well as great tracking and handling, fine braking, and lots of head and leg room. Only the horn is inoperable and everything else in the car works as it should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Great paint and metal, a very nice interior, a showy and capable engine, and near spotless underside. It\'s the total package and a stunner of a show car. Tri-Fives are still some of the most collectible classics on the market and continue to have a strong enthusiast following and aftermarket support. Here\'s your ticket into that world with this head turning example.
