DESCRIPTION

The new for 1968 Chevrolet El Camino featured a longer hood, angular side windows, a recessed rear window and a rakish front end. This style concept gave the owner the amenities of a passenger car, but with convenience of a truck that has been a favorite with enthusiasts since it was introduced.

This great-looking 1968 El Camino SS Tribute is finished in Steel Blue and features a cowl hood, SS style blacked out grill and an easy-lifting tilt up bed cover. The nostalgic muscle car vibe is enhanced by a set of 15-inch chrome Cragar SS wheels wrapped with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires staggered 215/70R15 front and 255/70R15 rear for a confidant stance.

Under the cowl hood is a 454 big block engine stoked to 496 cubic inches. The engine features a polished high-rise aluminum intake manifold topped with a dual-feed Quick Fuel carburetor and open element air cleaner, polished finned aluminum valve covers, HEI ignition, polished aluminum water pump and pully, as well power brakes with front discs. Hooker headers rumble back though a throaty dual exhaust system. Power is transferred to the rear wheels by a Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed manual transmission back to a 12-bolt positraction rear end supported by heavy-duty tubular upper and lower control arms with QA1 control arm mounts and Competition Engineering 3-way adjustable drag shocks.
