1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass 4 Door Sedan
For consignment a 1970 4 door sedan in very nice condition. A mere 97,612 title verified original miles have been clocked on this car, and it looks the part. Great 2 tone special order paint, good chrome, and a clean interior, this car has been pampered, and certainly garaged throughout its life. Plenty of recent maintenancewas performed, including a cooling system flush, new exhaust, a tune up, a new fuel pump, sending unit and fuel lines, as well as new weatherstripping, some new chrome and new emblems. We have a turnkey cruiser in our midst, all it needs is you behind the wheel.
Exterior
Starting with rust free steel, straight steel side panels, and trunk and hood with consistent gaps, we see a body covered in a correct Azure Blue respray, there are very few faults to be noted here with the exception of a few runs on the lowers and a scuff on the chrome. Certainly not perfect, but amazingly preserved for a 54 year old car. Part of RPO D99, Porcelain White covers the passenger compartment and is in equally good condition as the blue. Up front a split grille is flanked by dual headlights on either side, and a large chrome bumper below. All is nice and tight and in good alignment with no rust or fading on chrome. Bringing up the curved to a point rear is a wraparound bumper that has the tail lights embedded within it. On all 4 corners we have charcoal gray Oldsmobile Rally wheels with just a hint of chrome on them as well, in 15-inch format, all wrapped by like new BF Goodrich raised white letter rubber.
Interior
Opening one of the doors we are greeted by near pristine textured vinyl stitched with nice chrome accents, window cranks, and vinyl woodgrain panels with blue carpeting below. A front bench with its broadtuck and roll stitched inserts shows wonderfully with the exception of a large tear/seam separation in the driver\'s upper. A matching bench, sans tear, is seen in the back and appears to have hardly been used. A look forward to the dash and a very clean one indeed, with blue padded vinyl and curved metal to match, and a vinyl woodgrain strip near the bottom. Factory air has been installed, and the original AM radio is within the upper dash. An original steering wheel fronts the dash, and blue carpeting in great shape floods the floors. The headliner looks good and tight and the trunk shows a very clean speckle paint finish.
Drivetrain
The original 350ci V8 with a single Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor atop an Edelbrock aluminum intake resides in a lightly patined but concise engine bay. The correct and original TH350 3-speed automatic transmission behind and was treated to new O-rings, seals, gaskets and a new filter. A 10 bolt rear axle is in charge of turning the rear tires.
Undercarriage
Nice and straight with the factory flooring and frame showing in a lightly road spattered condition witha small bit of surface rust, but the frame is strong and sturdy. Power drum brakes are all around and are attached to independent coil spring suspension on the front and a 4 link and coil springs is on the rear. A new single exhaust system with a FlowMaster muffler is in charge of spent gas removal.
Drive-Ability
She fired right up and ran like a champ on the test track. Smooth shifting and good solid quick stop braking is the norm for this car, as is capable handling and wonderful acceleration. I wanted to take the liberty of having my tenure behind the wheel and my crack decoder and partner in crime was niceenough to oblige my request and frankly I was just as impressed as he was...simply a wonderful driving and fully functional skate here with only the AC and radio not working. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
An extremely nice example from the year 1970. Cared for and garaged, a very clean car with 97,612 original miles. An interesting white over light blue on the outside and an eye pleasing blue inside, with surfaces in nice condition. Nearly like a new penny, turn the key and start enjoying 1970 all over again.
