DESCRIPTION
Super-duper Beetle! 1300 hour custom build on a GMC Sonoma chassis. Show quality paint. Fuel injected 4.3L Vortec V6. This is one cool restomod bug!
EXTERIOR: High quality paint and bodywork! The Super Mantis Green Metallic paint was laid out with great detail then polished to a smooth and slick finish. Looking down the side of the nice and straight body it has crisp lines and smooth contours. You would never notice the steel fenders are 4\" wider than stock, the bodywork is that good. All the panels are aligned nicely with good consistent gaps. The doors close easily with minimal effort. It has custom made running boards which is a really cool option. The functioning custom front spoiler forces air into the radiator. The convertible top looks new, and it has a glass rear window. The windshield was replaced, and all the rubber seals were too. It\'s sitting on 15\" US Mags wheels with a GM bolt pattern and a polished lip wrapper in meaty Cooper Radial G/T tires.
INTERIOR: The doors all have new rubber seals and inside the metal is painted just like the body. New stock looking door panels. Full custom dashboard with gauges from a GMC Sonoma. GM steering wheel on a tilt column. Vents for the heater which is a super nice option now that this beetle has a radiator. Custom center console with an armrest and storage compartment. Reclining sport bucket seats with 3 point shoulder belts. Behind the seats is adequate storage space, nicely carpeted and large enough for multiple suitcases. Sun visors and carpet have both been replaced as well.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Open the hood by pulling a lever where the stock VW gas filler would be. A stock looking 4.3 liter Vortec V6 from a GMC Sonoma with the turnkey reliability of a fuel injection system rests underneath. A serpentine drive system spins the power steering pump and other accessories. Upgraded with a Champion aluminum radiator and electronic fan. Definitely has a few more horsepower than a stock VW engine.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the lid is neatly painted body color. The weatherstrip was replaced. Where the engine would normally be now houses some components including the battery and fuel tank. It is nicely laid out and easy to access everything.
UNDERSIDE: Looking great! Solid and rigid on a full steel GMC Sonoma chassis. Independent suspension up front with factory disc brakes. Custom 4 link rear suspension with tubular control arms, coil over adjustable gas shocks. Fresh exhaust system with a catalytic converter and Flowmaster muffler. Looking up at the engine it is nice and clean with an aluminum oil pan. The 4L60 overdrive automatic transmission is also clean with no visible leaks. That leads to a fresh looking drive shaft and a 10 bolt rear end with 3.42 gears. The floors are solid and rust free with neatly applied black paint.
SERVICE: Our shop inspected this vehicle, and it was in great condition. Ready to drive and enjoy.
This is a fun car! Something about the VW\'s, people really enjoy them. This is a really unique example of one. Guaranteed to turn heads when taking off from stoplights, and guaranteed to start conversations every time you pop the \"hood\"!
