DESCRIPTION

STK 3859 1977 Chevrolet Monza Spyder

The Chevrolet Monza, introduced in 1975, was a compact car aimed at the growing market for smaller, more fuel-efficient vehicles. Chevy manufactured various models of the Monza in 1977, but never one like this Spyder. The Monza was carefully restored in 2009 and is a work-of-art. (The owner states that the Spyder appeared in the June, 2015 issue of Super Chevy Magazine.) The exterior appears basically stock, except for the removal of door handles, but with an attitude. The straight body was professionally refinished in 2-stage Lamborghini California Orange. A time-honored hood/deck strip with pinstriping and an aggressive Spyder hood image complete the dynamic exterior. The Monza strikes an intimidating stance on 15\" Billet Specialty alloys that mount M/T Street Radials. The impressive interior is equally stunning. Comfortable bucket seats are upholstered in gray vinyl w/orange leather inserts. A custom fiberglass dash features a turned metal instrument panel w/Intellitronix digital gauges and a premium Pioneer AM/FM/CD sound system. It is also fitted with a custom console, tilt spoke wheel and power tinted windows. A four-function key FOB operates doors, hood and rear liftgate. Everything is top-shelf ... door cards, headliner, carpeting .... everything. (The Monza is also equipped with a complete VintageAir system, but it has never been charged.)

Horsepower is furnished by a 364ci GM LS2 engine donated by an 2006 GTO. It
is said to output 450bhp and resides in a spotless custom engine compartment. A Tremec 6-speed manual transfers torque to a narrowed Ford 9\" Trac-Lok differential with 3.70:1 gears. This powerhouse produces a somewhat muted roar through stainless tube headers and a custom exhaust w/dual resonators. By \'noise-definition\', this Monza is certainly a Sleeper. The unibody chassis has been replaced with a custom 2x4 box steel full frame w/tubbed rear fenderwells. It is fitted with Heidt\'s Superide II front suspension and parallel 4-link rear suspension. Other features include power steering, Wilwood front/rear power disc brakes, coil-over shocks and a stainless fuel tank. This Monza Spyder is a quality Bowtie street rod - you will not be disappointed. ALL VEHICLES SOLD \"AS IS\".
