DESCRIPTION
I am selling my 1940 Ford ½ ton pickup truck. It may be called a “RAT ROD”, but it is truly not. I call it “RAT-ish”. It was meant to look like an old gas station truck which were used to bring you repaired tires, batteries and gas if you were stuck, like AAA today.
The only thing old on this truck is the body/bed parts. Everything thing else is new and custom built. The custom built chassis is from Total Cost Involved in California, which included the Currie rear diff, disc brakes in front, drums in back with power steering rack, stainless brake lines, and the gas tank was moved to the back of the frame. The engine is a 5.3L Chevy backed up with a 4L60E tranny. An aluminum radiator and electric high velocity fan so it will not overheat with the A/C on and on a 110 degree day. The A/C and heat unit is a Vintage Air brand.
The interior is all black with bucket seats, cut pile carpet on the floor and partly behind the seats with fake suede on the roof. The entire cab has two layers of sound deadening. The gauges are Dakota Digital, an AM/FM stereo (needs to be hooked up) with kick panel speakers, a USB charging port and a “BIG DOG” extra horn to drive the dogs in your neighborhood crazy. There is a leather wrapped steering wheel with tilt steering column. The rims are American Racing with great road hugging tires.
The truck has about 1200 miles on the build and runs, stops great. I am asking $39,999 OBO. All extra parts receipts and books also go with the vehicle. If you are REALLY SERIOUS, contact me through this ad (Facebook or Craigslist etc.) with your phone number and I WILL call you. I DON’T need help selling this truck or any car. I am not interested in trading either. I do this often. I build all of my vehicles. Thanks for looking.
