DESCRIPTION

Up for grabs is my treasured daily driven 1966 "Camper Cruiser" GMC 1500 series pickup.

It has 81, 264 actual miles on its powerful 220HP optional 351 V6 engine and 4 speed trans. It was special ordered with a large cab-over camper on it, factory power steering, 351 V6, SM420 4 speed manual trans, radio, deluxe heat, Custom Comfort and Custom Appearance packages, two tone Terrace Blue and Olympic white paint, Hazard switch, and dealer installed GM Spotlight, fog lamps and Ice Cold Air Conditioning. It has NOS armrests, grill emblems and the uber rare un-obtainium correct hubcaps - all NOS.

It was built in California and stayed there most of its life until the original owner took it to the mid-west to live. The frame and driveline is in excellent smooth shape, but the body has plenty of rust today after all these years being driven in humidity and wet conditions. The 351 engine is every bit as stout as a stock 327 V8 in a comparable Chevy truck, and pulls super strong uphill and zooms as fast as you want to go down the highway. Unreal how strong it runs and how perfect the whole driveline and AC & power steering work. Everything but the radio works, and it used to work recently but has stopped. Could be the speaker is the issue or a loose wire. It has a thick folder containing all its maintenance records back to new. You can hop in this incredibly well maintained truck and fully expect it to drive to California or New Jersey or any distance from Joppa Alabama where it is now. No doubt in my mind it would make it with ease.

So, looking at these photos, you see it on my trailer - those are from Dec 2022 when I bought it from the 3rd owner. Showing you those, because since then I have stuck my camper shell on it, so you will see that in the car show photos, but that camper shell is NOT part of this sale. I am reusing that shell on my other truck. I did not take photos of the rust issues but we will discuss that when you contact me. I have driven to California and bought a 100% rust free identical 66 GMC cab, rust free mint doors and front fenders, and grill support with the intent to reconstruct it solid again and paint all that but never did. So, you can buy this truck as is and drive it daily as I do with no concern for the rust, you can LS swap it, you can rebuild it or whatever - the price is determined by what you want to do. Someone LS swapping it will not want the 351 and 4 speed, so you can deduct $1000 for the drivetrain if that is your intent. Similarly, you can bring your own wheels and knock off another $1000 leaving its wheels and hubcaps here. if you want any of the rust free things, then you would be adding extra $$ to cover those to get them in the deal - all dependent on what you are willing to pay. I am pricing the truck here as $7500 OBO with no camper shell and none of the rust free items. We can talk about a deal you have in mind - contact me.

SHIPPING: I have my own 18 ft trailer and can haul this truck to you. Generally that is slightly less than what you would pay a shipper who does that for a living, but depends on where you are and what kind of haggling deal you put together.
