For consignment, a 2019 Factory Five Cobra roadster, with a title verified 7,405 actual miles, built in California with a stroker V8 and adorned in some unique specs that make this Cobra stand out from all others in the snake pit. 9 out of 10 car guys agree, the Cobra is the coolest car on the planet, a distinctly American take on a diminutive British roadster, and everybody either wants one or will come to want one.
Exterior
Burgundy Metallic is accentuated by white painted stripes which start below the gaping intake run over the nose and hood, then over the back, cascading down the rear panel. While we\'re back here, let\'s take a moment to notice the round taillights, the characteristic bumperettes, and on this car, twin roll bars, one for each occupant. Back in front, dark faced projector beams are nested in the headlight along with LED halo bars while in the intake, auxiliary halo LED lights add more potential for brighter roads ahead. There are some subtle yellow accents, if yellow can be subtle, including the last rib of the side gill vent and the brake calipers and as we\'ll learn, these pick up on the yellow racing harness inside the topless cabin. Dark side pipes are complemented by the 17-inch Team III AC III wheels which present in dark charcoal with polished rims and faux knockoffs that have body colored accents. It\'s all in excellent condition and we could not find any exterior imperfections other than some orange peel and inclusion in the finish.
Interior
Here\'s a twist. Cream color leather starts on the door panels and veers from traditional black interiors and the map pouches even have a burgundy accent. The color is also used on the traditional cobra seats wrapped in RaceQuip racing harnesses in bright yellow. The beautiful center console is black Daytona fabric with cream leather accent trim and a cream boot around the red striped, black shifter. Chef\'s kiss! A Momo race inspired, flat bottomed steering wheel is in place here inspiring confidence in a car that would normally have a slim, wood wheel. The dash is yet another spectacle, wrapped in cream with silver faced and framed AutoMeter gauges. More cream trims the black carpet covering on the floor and footwell walls.
Drivetrain
Ah ha! More yellow! The valve covers and wires of this 351ci Windsor based 396ci stroker V8 are yellow. The engine also boasts Trick Flow Twisted Wedge 170 aluminum heads, a performance camshaft, Edelbrock intake, and a Holley 4-barrel carburetor. Headers travel a short distance to side pipes. A Tremec TKO500 5-speed manual transmission is underfoot and sends some serious ponies to the Ford 8.8\" rear. Only power disc brakes will do here, and they\'re found on all four wheels.
Undercarriage
This former California ride is totally tubular, man. The frame that is, and we\'re not sure if this car rode on an indoor treadmill to accumulate 7,000 miles, but the underside is clean enough to warrant questions. Just minor hints that the car\'s been driven at all and no grease, no oil, and certainly no surface rust to note. And would ya look at that, the gas tank straps and side pipe brackets have been painted yellow! Coil overs are up front and in back where they are accompanied with a 4-link suspension.
Drive-Ability
As much fun as these are, they are toys that come with the potential to bite. The power to weight ratio is off the charts, so this is one snake you want to charm on a first ride. Sure, the exhaust note begs you to step on the snake and send it slithering down the tarmac but resist the urge until you\'ve been through the full course of zookeeper training. For our short jaunt, the car exhibits obvious power, amazing handling, straight tracking, and brakes that grip like a boa constrictor. All functions work as they are supposed to on this low mileage California king. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
