For consignment, a 2004 Chevrolet Corvette coupe with a title verified 28,933 actual miles and bathed in Machine Silver Metallic, one of eight colors available for the 2004 Vette, the final year of the C5 and a year which also produced a commemorative edition.
Exterior
It is that silver paint that allows us to call this one a silver bullet. Sleek lines look somehow sleeker in silver, and the epic Vette fender vent seems more exaggerated, more aggressive as the light color contrasts with the black cove. The red oval quad tail lights and even the third brake light pop off the silver paint and the twin flag Corvette emblems stand out like never before. From the aerodynamic nose piece, the hood ascends subtly back to the steeply raked windshield, flat roof, and perpendicular broad silver B-pillar, before spilling down over the rear, curved glass, nicely tinted on this car. C6 Z06 style chrome wheels dress up corners and are wrapped in low profile tires that are no more than two years old. One scuff down low is the only exterior imperfection we could find.
Interior
Simply configured door panels are contoured black plastics in an attractive design that\'s functional as well and on this car, super clean. Leather bucket seats are tall, supportive, and clean and the driver\'s side shows a bit of creasing from use. The beefy black steering wheel houses an airbag and fronts another simple and functional component, the instrument cluster, an array of black faced gauges that are backlit and easy to read. Integrated controls are in the center stack for the AM/FM/CD radio and the climate controls, all with big bold buttons so you won\'t be searching for buttons while traveling the speed of light, (or well within legal limits, of course). The shifter is dressed in a black leather boot and barely looks used, and the surrounding molded plastic console is picture perfect. Low pile black carpet covers the floor under fitted Corvette mats and the back cargo area is equally as clean.
Drivetrain
Pull the hood forward to find a showroom fresh 5.7 liter LS1 V8 pumping out 350 horsepower, fuel injected, and tied to a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission. Those horses stay in the back where they meet 2.73 gears with limited slip. And of course, power disc brakes live on all four hubs.
Undercarriage
Usage is almost imperceivable underneath, it\'s that clean! The dual exhaust is finished off with a pair of stainless Borla mufflers before center exiting via four big chrome tips. Independent SLA suspension with a transverse monoleaf spring provides the ride for front and rear.
Drive-Ability
Never a dull moment behind the wheel of a C5 and this clean car provides a pleasurable ride that demonstrates the power, handling, and comfort prowess of America\'s sports car. This car is 20 years old, but you\'d never know it and we\'re not surprised that all functionality works as it should in this pampered Vette.
