DESCRIPTION

2001 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante Convertible

For consignment, a 2001 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante convertible with a title verified 14,189 actual miles. A car built with old school coach building techniques, primarily by hand. Only 2,059 Vantage Volantes were produced, a small number compared to the couple versions.

Exterior
We can talk about the power and speed, but it\'s the design of Aston Martin that is perhaps the most iconic, and this DB7 does not disappoint. The distinctive grille opening is accompanied on this car by a gaping lower air intake, enormous flush fog lights, and the windblown headlight covers the lean back in line with the hood. British Racing Green is deep and dark and a long way from the finish of mass produced cars. Astons often include side vents, and they are here with linear trim above a side marker that adds to the UK genealogy. The splendid rear has ambler turn signals in the corners, connected to horizontal light bars over a body keyed bumper and dual exhaust. A green canvas top and glass window do not detract from the looks of this grand touring car that walks the sports car identity line. 18-inch wheels carry low profile tires, and the smooth package is complete. The only imperfection are some scuffs under the chin.

Interior
Indeed, the exterior is impressive. Then, there\'s the interior for which Aston is renowned for. Quality materials and build go into each one and it\'s immediately evident when you open the doors to this Vantage and are greeted with door panels completely engulfed in Biscuit leather, designed in tandem with the black accessories and wood veneer accents. The inviting bucket seats share the Biscuit leather and have substation lumbar and side support along with leg support cushions and of course, it\'s all power controlled. The back 2+2 seats are less inviting but keep the attractive leather and are surrounded with a matching tonneau when the top is down. A simple and clean instrument panel greats the driver and the entire dash is surrounded by, yep, padded Biscuit leather and the center stack contains controls for the heater and AC and an AM/FM/CD player on a wood veneer backing which is matched by the center console surround and shifter. Low pile green carpet coats the floor and has a Vantage metal plate on the door sills while the small trunk is lined in gray carpet, housing an amplifier.

Drivetrain
Sure, the interior is impressive. But under the hood, a hand built 6.0 liter DOHC V12, fuel injected and putting out 420 horsepower and like everything else on the car, is presented with the appearance in mind. The plenums resemble a rib cage protecting the heart of the beast while plastic covers on the sides hide any unpleasantries we do not need to gaze upon, things like wires and hoses and relays. The transmission is a ZF 5-speed automatic and sends power properly to the rear wheels and 3.06 gears. Naturally, power disc brakes are found on all four wheels.

Undercarriage
Robust components, X-frames, and an exhaust system that\'s actually nice to look at! The underside is clean and dry with no rust, no oil, no greasy build up and only hints of ever being driven. The dual exhaust is original and travels through mufflers and resonators and has been engineered to create one of the best sounds, to some, in the car industry. Double wishbone suspension with coil springs is found front and rear.

Drive-Ability
This driving machine provides smooth sailing and harmonic wailing, balanced and nimble and quick on the draw. There\'s driving to get from point A to point B and then there\'s driving for the experience and the DB7 is designed for the latter. It does everything well and as expected with such low mileage, everything works as if we just left the showroom. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

A car for the discerning automobile enthusiast, one that could be driven every day or reserved for special occasions, like weekends. One of the last remaining hand-built luxury cars with an attention to quality that cars produced by the tens of thousands simply can\'t match, no matter the price. This spectacular combination of British Racing Green, Biscuit leather, and a V12 engine awaits your interest.

Classic Auto Mall is home to more than 1,000 classic and collectible vehicles for sale via consignment in a climate controlled 336,000-square foot showroom (that\'s more than 8 acres!).
