DESCRIPTION

2024 Custom Rock Crawler

If you\'re one of the 2 million followers of Matt\'s Off Road Recovery YouTube channel, you\'re familiar with the world of rock crawling and off road adventures. Vehicles are either modified with suspension and tires, or purpose built for the sole goal of climbing vertical rock outcroppings and being able to withstand the inevitable mishap.

For consignment, a 2024 custom rock crawler. One of those purpose built competition vehicles with axles that are steerable at both ends and a list of things you probably don\'t have on your Subaru Outback.

Exterior
The custom tubular framework is powder coated green metallic and is essentially a rolling cage carefully engineered to protect occupants and the drivetrain itself. There\'s a lightbar across the top and a 12,000 pound Warn winch up front with a wireless remote and other than the diamond steel plate surrounding the engine, the ride presents as a skeleton allowing all components to be seen and easily serviced. The same diamond steel plate forms a roof and a fuel tank. 44-inch TSL Bogger Super Swamper LT tires ride on 15-inch beadlock wheels and have massive presence and contact patches. They also represent a nearly unlimited approach and departure angles and after all, isn\'t the whole point?

Interior
Diamond steel plate forms the flat surface which includes the floor, center console, and firewall. A set of orange and black vinyl Beard UTV seats are in the cab, equipped with a 5 point racing harness. The steering wheel rises from a narrow column and fronts a series of AutoMeter white face gauges, an LED light control panel, and a series of covered switches and a push button start button just ahead of the gear shifter, transfer case dual sticks, and treadlebrake level. Your passenger will appreciate the T-shaped handle to hold on to. There are no doors, windows, radio, or air conditioning.

Drivetrain
Behind the cage and under the steel plates is a 350ci Ram Jet V8 with electronic fuel injection, headers, and a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission. There\'s also a Dana 300 transfer case and 6.87 gears in the front and rear Rockwell axles. Disc brakes are on all four corners and hydraulic steering is also found at both axles.

Undercarriage
No need to put this up on the lift, it\'s all in plain sight. There are some scuffs and some areas of surface rust, but components look relatively clean for something that may have been through the mud once or twice. Suspension components are large and robust, including the coil overs which are tied to a 4-link front and rear. The exhaust doesn\'t stray too far from the engine dumping underneath, but not before going through Spintech mufflers.

Drive-Ability
This is absolutely a big boy toy and more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Of course, we relegated to flat asphalt and even the potholes don\'t register with these huge tires. The engine provides more than enough power on flat terrain and likely grip on actual rocks. All functions were working as intended during our tenure behind the wheel. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Looking for a raucous hobby vehicle that can handle just about any off road course in the country? The crawler pulls no punches in its ability to inspire confidence on the trail and up steep terrain. Looking for a second career? Move to Utah and compete with Matt in rescuing less experienced off roaders in the sandy beaches, red rocks, and dunes of the southwest.
