2007 Hummer H3
For consignment, a 2007 Hummer H3 with a title verified 112,996 actual miles, a one owner car that\'s been garaged its whole life and shows nicely as a well cared for and maintained road or off road vehicle. A Jeep on steroids with the mystique of being a Hummer that includes all of its service records over the years, (ya know, former military and takes no prisoners kinda vehicle!).
Exterior
A nice coat of two stage Victory Red bathes the exterior panels of this truck looking a bit like armored 4x4 with gun turrets in the form of narrow tinted windows, squared off fenders, and wide black bumpers with the requisite tow shackle and hitch on back. The truck is lifted off the 16-inch wheels and allows this vehicle to go through water up to 27 inches deep. Chromed tubular side steps compensate for the height and allow an easier climb to the cabin which benefits from large side mirrors. Other things that make this vehicle stand out include the large chrome grille, the hefty front bumper with shackles, the faux hood vent that adds visual interest, the meaty roof tracks for the rack, and a utilitarian looking gas cap cover. In back, a full sized spare wheel is mounted and ready, flanked by flush tail lights and blocking a large tailgate that is side hinged. As a testament to its care, we could not find any major exterior imperfections.
Interior
With its tough exterior, the interior takes on a softer look, made for the comfort one would expect on an everyday SUV. The door panels are black molded plastic with light Cashmere leather inserts, molded armrests, power window and door locks, and a power mirror toggle. Inside are the power seats where we note front high back buckets covered in beige leather with black piping. The driver\'s seat shows some compression but is otherwise clean and intact. In the back is a tall backed leather bench with a 60/40 split to expand the rear cargo area with a choice of extensions. In front, a familiar GM steering wheel and a rather simple dash wrapped in hard plastic, a far cry from the cold steel dash of the military Hummer. But there is some \"metal\" in the form of an aluminum plate that houses the AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth and satellite capabilities as well as the climate controls, looking not unlike a stainless steel kitchen appliance. At the top of this plate is a lineup of buttons which is your 4x4 control mode center, and the shifter is down below in the center console. Tan carpet is underfoot and in mat form in the cargo area. Above is the foam molded and clean headliner is a power sunroof.
Drivetrain
Under the hood sits a clean 3.7 liter inline 5 cylinder engine putting out 272hp. It has EFI, and a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission bolted to the back. Turning the tires are 4.10 geared axles for front and rear. Lots of plastic coverings and all very clean in this engine bay. Power disc brakes are also in front and back.
Undercarriage
We had to double check the mileage on this rig because the underside, as with the rest of the truck, does not look its age. Other than a bit of road dirt and surface rust, it\'s very clean underneath. There are no fluids out of place, no invasive rust, and no caking grease anywhere. The truck uses torsion bars for the front suspension and leaf springs for the rear. OEM single exhaust is in charge of the exhale and deposits spent gas discreetly under the truck towards the back.
Drive-Ability
This pseudo military civilian truck fired right up and off to the test loop we went. It ran smoothly, had crisp shifting and easy steering and from on high, visibility was very good. It\'s not as wide as a real Hummer of course, but this is still a large vehicle, so mind your wide hips! All functions were working as intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
What happens when you take good care of a vehicle over the course of 17 years? It ends up looking great, performing well, and defying its odometer. This is an astoundingly clean H3 that was obviously pampered. A neat little 4x4 that looks larger than life and exudes ruggedness but the only offroad it performed was probably running over a flowerbed. This beauty has plenty of life left. Storm chaser, zombie escape rig, grocery getting, soccer taxi. It does it all. Oorah!
