In addition to Chevrolet’s new “Task Force” styling a new series was introduced in March of 1955 that featured sleek and sophisticated styling.  It was a ½ Ton Suburban pickup dubbed the Chevrolet Cameo and was based on the 3000 Series chassis with a 114 inch wheelbase.  The Cameo was dressed in Bombay Ivory with red accents around the side and rear windows, while the inside was draped with red and beige upholstery resembling that of a 1954 Bel Air.  Standard equipment available included Deluxe Cab equipment a panoramic rear window plus a fiberglass bedliner. The Cameo was powered by Chevy's new 265 CID V8 and an array of transmission options including the heavy-duty 3-speed manual transmission.
